Core Production Processes and Procedures
The production of acetylene cylinders falls under the category of precision manufacturing. The process encompasses key stages such as raw material preparation, forming and processing, filler loading, and safety testing, as detailed below:
Raw Material Selection and Billet Preparation: High-quality carbon structural steel or low-alloy steel hot-rolled seamless steel pipes are used as raw materials to ensure that the material is free from cracks, laminations, and other defects.
The steel pipes are cut into fixed-length billets using cutting equipment, and the ends of the billets are chamfered in preparation for subsequent processing.
Spin Forming and Head Processing: The billets are processed using a hot spin forming process: after heating the billets to a specific temperature, the ends are spun and closed using the mold of a spin forming machine to form the cylinder head and neck, ensuring that the cylinder has a seamless structure and eliminating the risk of high-pressure leakage.
This stage requires precise control of the spinning temperature and pressure to ensure uniform cylinder wall thickness.
Heat Treatment Strengthening: The formed cylinder blanks undergo normalizing + tempering heat treatment: through precise control of heating, holding, and cooling, the internal stresses generated during the spinning process are eliminated, improving the mechanical strength, toughness, and fatigue resistance of the cylinder to meet the requirements for high-pressure vessels.
